Later-in-life students come with their own needs, considerations and expectations. This training will give practicing Yoga Teachers hands-on experience with the senior student. We will explore Yoga philosophy and concepts from a later-in-life student perspective. This training is constructed to offer a balance of lecture, movement, small-group work, practice-teaching sessions, discussions and individual work.
A shorter intensive weekend version of the 50-hour YTT. During the 20 hours you will delve into:
- Image and assumptions of the older student
- Adapting asanas for mobility and health limitations
- Anatomy of the aging body and mind
- Explorations of how to create a Yoga practice for students with Osteoporosis, Arthritis, Diabetes, and other common health concerns of the older student.
Co-taught by Tanis Fishman and Kristen Beaulieu, this 60 hour School of Sankalpa YTT is a deep exploration of practice, beliefs and teaching. Yoga Nidra is a systematic relaxation practice that guides practitioners to an expanded state of awareness beyond the 5 senses. This wisdom teaching is a portal into one’s authentic nature, where the timeless self resides.
