The Kidney March is an event created by The Kidney Foundation of Canada. We are volunteers, staff members, donors, and individuals living with the disease, from all walks of life, all across Canada.
Since its creation in 1964, The Kidney Foundation has helped millions of Canadians suffering from kidney failure and related disorders such as hypertension, diabetes, urinary tract infections and kidney stones. Our fundraising campaigns allow us to contribute millions of dollars to research, organ donation and transplant programs, and services for those with chronic kidney disease.
In southern Alberta, The Kidney Foundation has a reputation for making things happen. To truly make a difference, we have to aim high. That is what the Kidney March is all about.
Last year, 2014, I was a Marcher walking 100 Km in 3 days. I can honestly say it was a profound experience that has forever changed my life. This year, 2015, I am joining the crew as a member of their Stretch Tent. As crew I get the chance to support the marchers by helping them stay limber and mobile for the entire weekend.
Come learn more about The Kidney March on April 19th at their Kidney March Expo. I will have a booth open to talk about taking care of your body as a Marcher and answering any questions about stretching and training for this amazing experience.
